Also called underwrap, pre-wrap is designed to go underneath athletic tape to keep tape from sticking to your skin. Some athlete must have forgotten a headband and grabbed a roll in desperation! Now hugely popular with teenage athletes, girls have found a fun way to keep their hair out of their face! The foamy material sticks to itself and has enough grip to stay on your head but doesn’t stick to your hair. Regular headbands slip off easily. Who wants to fuss with hair during a game or practice?
Pre-wrap comes in eleven colors: black, blue, green, maroon, natural, orange, hot pink, light pink, purple, red and yellow and sells for $2.00 to $3.00 a roll. You can buy it in most sporting good stores or online. Although many sports leagues prohibit the use of hair accessories, pre-wrap is permitted. While many girls coordinate their pre-wrap with their team colors, lots just use it to go with whatever outfit they are wearing that day. It’s a great way to show school or team spirit!
